Zoom Info for FREE???? Sort of.

Zoom Info for FREE, Kind of


For those of us out there that would like to use Zoom Info but do not have the resources to spend the money. Here is an alternative that will get you the same results.
Goto to this link:

http://metered.zoominfo.com/meteredsearch/searchform.asp?

Enter your search criteria. You will get back a list of companies and job titles but no names. Zoom would like you to pay for these names, NO NEED. Just enter the title and company results into Google, and whala, you got the name.
Here is an example I ran today:

Title Keywords: vp OR "vice president"
Company Name:
Industry Keywords:
Location: Maine

The results came in with over 55 pages of VP's in Maine, over a 1000 results. So I just picked one randomly and entered it into Google. "Senior Vice President" "Camden National Bank". And there it was, the name, "Greg Dufour". For today's purpose I left the Company name and Industry Keywords blank, but you can add info into these spaces to get more of a direct result. WHERE DOES SOMEBODY LOCATE A SCIENTIFIC RECRUITER? I DON'T KNOW, MAYBE A SCIENTIFIC COMPANY. COULD IT BE THAT SIMPLE, PROBABLY NOT!!!! WHAT IF YOU HAVE NEVER SOURCED FOR THIS TYPE OF POSITION, WHAT IN THE WORLD DO YOU DO? I GUESS THAT IS THE QUESTION. DO YA KNOW, DO YA KNOW, DO YA KNOW? FOR THIS INSTANCE, LETS NOT WORRY ABOUT LOCATION, THIS INDIVIDUAL CAN WORK FROM ANYWHERE IN THE CONTINENTAL US.

BE CAREFUL WHEN SIGNING UP FOR NICHE SITES

WITH ALL OF THE NICHE EMPLOYMENT SITES OUT THERE TODAY WE AS RECRUITERS NEED TO BE CAREFUL. NOW MORE THEN EVER IS IT IMPORTANT TO CHECK OUT EVERY SITE YOU BEFORE SENDING MONEY. REMEMBER, MOST SITES ARE GOING TO PROMISE A GOOD ROI, BUT IS THE SITE REALLY FOR YOU. HERE ARE SOME SIMPLE THINGS TO LOOK AT:

1. ALWAYS ASK FOR A FREE TRIAL, if they are confident in their product, the answer should be YES
2. GOTO WWW.ALEXA.COM and see how the site is ranked
3. SIGN IN AS A JOB SEEKER - see if there are any jobs posted by other companies for the geographic area that you are trying to hire for, and what kind of jobs
4.IF YOU DO FIND JOBS POSTED-how many different companies have posted? the more companies that use the site may be a sign of its quality, job seekers are going to be attracted to sites that offer the most positions
5.ASK, ASK ASK-if you belong to any networking groups such as www.erexchange.com - ask the group(s) if anybody has had any experience with the site, and see what feedback you get....

ALOT OF EMPLOYMENT SITES OUT THERE PROMISE THE WORLD, BUT WATCH OUT, MANY OF THEM ARE SUSPECT!!!!!

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE YOU ASK? IN THE FIRST POST I JUST USED THE AREA CODE 207, THE NEW VERSION I USED THE AREA CODE PLUS -*, THE DASH IS FOR THE FORMAT OF A PHONE NUMBER AND THE * IS A WILDCARD....SO I'M THINKING THAT THE 2ND STRING WILL BRING BACK MORE RELEVENT LOCAL PEOPLE, LEAVING OUT FOR EXAMPLE 207 MAINE STREET....
